System Center Updates Publisher (SCUP) June 2019 Preview is now available. Improvements include a new authoring mode to help you author your updates. When you enable authoring mode, a Categories Workspace is added to the start screen. The categories workspace enables update authors to organize updates that belong together.

A new Detectoid button is also added to the Updates Workspace when authoring mode is enabled. Detectoids are useful when you have multiple updates that use the same rule (or a set of rules) to determine applicability.

Joining the preview

We are excited to have you join our preview! To get started:

  1. If you have the ‘Automatically check for available updates at startup’ and ‘Include preview builds when checking for updates’ options selected in your existing installation of System Center Updates Publisher, the preview will be offered automatically when you run SCUP within the next few days.
  2. To get it immediately, download the SCUP Preview and run UpdatesPublisher.msi.
  3. If this is a new installation, configure the options on a computer that meets the prerequisites for SCUP.
