We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 10/10, 02:00 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 10/09, 19:35 UTC and that during the 6 hours 25 minutes that it took to resolve the issue some of customers in East Us experienced data access issue in the Azure portal and degraded query performance.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to an issue in one of our backend service.

We continue to investigate issues within Application Insights and Log analytics. The root cause has been isolated to one of the backend services being unhealthy. Some customers in East US continue to experience data access issues. Initial findings indicate that the problem began at 10/9 19:35 UTC. We currently have no estimate for resolution.
