Experiencing Data Access issue in Azure Portal - West US 2 region - 10/24 - Investigating

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 10/24, 21:53 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 10/24, 21:44 UTC and that during the 9 minutes that it took to resolve the issue 3.7% of customers in the West US 2 region experienced query failures.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to problem with a backend system.

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

We are aware of issues within Application Insights in the West US 2 region and are actively investigating. Some customers may experience Data Access issues (e.g. timeouts, latency and refused requests).
