Currently, the M365 Copilot app on a phone allows releasing jobs from a Follow Me queue by scanning the QR code on a printer, but seemingly arbitrarily, it doesn't work (and isn't supported) on an iPad.
iPads, as a one time purchased multi-purpose device that doesn't require a data plan, are FAR more common for an employer to be issuing to all staff than company phones.
As a school district, all our teachers have district iPads. They do not have district phones. There are HR, legal and union considerations to trying to force someone to use a personally owned expensive device for work, and some people don't even have smartphones (flip phones still exist!).
If users could release jobs on an iPad (which we issue) we could require Secure Print / Follow Me and stop adding individual printer shares.
As long as it requires a cell phone, we cannot. We can't make a device the district is not purchasing a hard requirement for work.
Please fix Universal Print job release via the M365 Copilot app on iPads to work like it does on an iPhone.
