At the moment, support for passkeys are disabled inside an Add-in. This is prevent using the most secure way of establishing a session with a server. The alternatives are less secure and typically more intrusive to the user experience.
Since Microsoft pushes for passkey, I think it would be fair to unlock their use in Add-ins.

+1 to this. My organization has implemented passkeys for our customers and our Outlook add-in is the one area that is holding us back from enabling passkeys across our entire platform.
