SharePoint Online - Make "more details - Activity - Add Comment" feature available Office docs

The SharePoint Online - Document Properties Pane - More Details Activity Log where a user can add comments is available for non office docs (email, txt etc). This feature is not available for Office docs like Word as a user is able to add comments within the application. 

As users would like to add comments without opening or checking out the document it would be useful if this feature was made available to all types of documents in SharePoint Online
