Hi Kelbow-MSFT ,
Thank you for your reply.
Thank you for the link also.
In my case it has worked now that my Visual Studio subscription was set up by my company.
Being in the UK (EU server zone) I also came up with an error after receiving the code via text that it errored in setting up the Developer Program account.
But when I went through the set up steps again and chose the correct server location, got a new code via text, etc, it worked.
Just wanted to add that here in case anyone else has that issue.
Thank you for your help!

Hi, Phoenix_Rain thanks for asking. I know this is frustrating for everyone. Here's an updated link for anyone else: Microsoft 365 Developer Program - Microsoft 365 Developer Blog
We are piloting a new verification process now and hope to roll it out in the next two-three weeks on the site or sooner. After joining the program, this new process allows customers to request a tenant, go through a validation process, and then receive an invitation. We'll announce this on the blog. - Phoenix_RainCopper Contributor
Kelbow-MSFT How long is this pause expected to last?
Can you please share the current projected timeline of events?
I need to use the Microsoft 365 E5 subscription to create a demo app for proof of concept for my company.
As I don't have Azure admin rights at my company, I can't do this without the Developer Program Microsoft 365 E5 subscription.
I'm in the UK, my company is a big Microsoft user.
Please advise ASAP.
P.S. The blog link you put on here is unclickable.
I found the blog, through clicking the link where you have posted it somewhere else.
There have been no updates in a week.

We're sorry to hear that you are having issues joining the developer program.
We recently had some service issues and many countries were temporarily blocked from joining. This issue has resolved. While you can still join the developer program, access to the free Microsoft 365 E5 subscription is currently paused for the short-term while we adjust the qualifications for that benefit.
To stay apprised of changes, please follow our blog.
