For our AddIn with it's own ribbon, I would need to have the possibility to hide elements on the ribbon (controls and groups), basically based on the state if the user is logged in or not.
With RibbonApi 1.2 (if I got it right) I would be able to have two contextual tabs, one for the logged in, and one for the logged off state. And then I could switch between of them.
So it would be really really cool to have the RibbonApi 1.2 also on powerpoint.

Hi Artur_Hellmann - Great idea! We actually have something in the works to provide the addin developer the ability to show/hide controls on the ribbon for either a custom add-in tab or a contextual tab. Would this meet your needs?

Hi EsterB ,
Yes that meet our needs.
In the future we also want to remove the whole tab programmatically, but for now thats absoltutely perfect.
Do you have any informations about the timeline, when we can expect this functionality?
By the way, great work you do with the Office.JS there. It's absolutely cool that you listen to the devs using it. Have you maybe considered to make the whole thing open source so others could contribute with Pull Requests?
