Allow setting user signature in Outlook from Add-in

Coming from https://stackoverflow.com/questions/57551608/access-user-signatures-from-within-outlook-add-in.

This functionality would really help with my Add-in development. It is a bit sad to see that the API is rather limited, right now. Should I switch to the old (not web based) Add-ins instead?
