I agree with the two comments below: My team really needs this feature. We want to insert shapes directly inside a chart to make them a part of the chart object (please see our comments here: Inserting/ grouping textboxes with Excel charts). This functionality is essential for us to modernize our Excel VBA add-in to Office.js.
