Windows Mobile App - Native support for Apple Vision Pro

It would be great if there was native support for Apple Vision Pro (I know the iPad version now works on AVP but it has some limitations). In particular, the following features would be useful:

  • support for larger screen/window sizes and different aspect ratios (ultra wide displays)
  • support for more (higher) resoultions (ultra wide aspect ratios)
  • support for multiple virtual monitors when connecting via RDP to remote host
  • connection information

Yes, please add a native visionOS app. The iPadOS version is very terrible to use.

    1. It would be great if it had mouse and keyboard support as well as Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad support.

    2. It should support seamless resizing of the screen (visionOS window of the app), by that I mean it resizes fast, not spending a few seconds changing the Windows OS resolution and redrawing everything... make it have a threshold where small tweaks don't force a resolution change, it just rescales the window... or not, maybe that would suck.

    3. Pass through the system theme to the remote machine, e.g. visionOS has dark theme enabled, it tells the remote machine to use dark theme, and when visionOS changes it's theme, it passes the theme change to the remote os.

    4. It would be really great if we could remove the whole remote OS in a window concept and let me decouple the application windows from the remote and move them around as separate windows in the visionOS environment; i.e., I can run Teams and Edge inside the remote OS and in the visionOS, I see them as separate windows as if they were native visionOS apps.

    >I am curious: what applications are you using on APV in your virtual Windows machine?

I mainly connect to VPN from AVP, then use the Windows Mobile App to establish RDP session to my work/office Windows VDI machine which runs all sort of apps. Given I also RDP from physical workstations, both at work and at home, I'm not really interested that much at redirecting specific apps only - the whole Windows desktop redirection is much better for me, so I can have exactly the same work environment regardless if I connect from desktop, laptop or AVP.

  • Hi RobQ0 ,

Thank you for the feedback, your suggestions make sense. I am curious: what applications are you using on APV in your virtual Windows machine? We are always trying to learn more about the VR use case for accessing Windows remotely. Thanks

It's not about specific application but rather accessing remotely Windows desktop at work (with all the apps there).
