Num Lock Off or Configurable When Starting RDP session

When using an external, full size keyboard on a Mac, each time the RDP window loses focus, when focus is return to the session, num lock is always on. For those of us who are proficient at using a keyboard to navigate around, this is really burdensome. I have searched for several years now hoping to find some resolution. I have seen many complaints, but no resolution. How about a configuration option to set or clear num lock when RDP window gets focus on Mac? I am guessing this would please many a programmer, especially those of us who learned to code before using a mouse.
