Microsoft RDP with macOS Sonoma experiences audio input disconnect
This week I upgraded my Mac to Sonoma and Microsoft RDP for Mac (10.9.2) is now experiencing microphone audio disconnects when I am in a remote Teams meeting via RDP. When I initially connect to Teams, video, audio input and audio output is working correctly. After a few minutes, Teams will report audio device microphone is disconnected and then no-one can hear me speak. My headphones (audio out) and video still continue to function. If I terminate my RDP session and start again, I see the same behavior. Microsoft RDP is a solid product that I have been using for over a decade, hopefully this issue can be resolved soon.

Even after the upgrade to Sonoma 14.1 and Remote Desktop 10.9.4 2161 the issue is still there and the app can be barely used

I'm having this exact same issue since upgrading my Mac OS. The mic works for about 3 or 4 seconds and then freezes. I can't use the mic in any RDP session.

Microsoft Remote Desktop (Beta) release 10.9.4 (2161) was released today but unfortunately this still doesn't fix the microphone issues with macOS Sonoma. Not sure if Microsoft actually reads these boards but it would be nice to think they do from time to time.

It has been a complete nightmare since I upgraded to Sonoma, the Microsoft Remote Desktop is always crashing during meetings with/without video.

Here's the latest. I contacted Apple support to see if this is a Sonoma issue and they say that no, it's a problem with Microsoft RDP. I then contacted Microsoft support through their chat interface. I suspect I was talking to a bot rather than a human but they say this issue is a known issue and they are working on a fix. When pressed for an estimate for when a fix should be issued, all I got is "soon".

Same issue

I'm experiencing the same issue 😞
In the remote team meeting suddenly microphone is getting dropped, other team member not able to hear my voice.
If I team directly in the mac (sonoma), it working perfectly, problem if we use teams in remote desktop.

Unfortunately it could also be a problem with macOS Sonoma: I went back to MS RDP version 10.8.2 (2088) with TimeMachine backup and I still have the mic problems.
Edit: I just made a Teams call directly from Sonoma and that went perfect. So it does seem to be an issue with the interface between Sonoma and MS RDP client. That´s probably why an older version of MS RDP client won´t work either.
What I noticed is, that my headset doesn´t show up with its real name on the remote machine. My headset has a name like "FranksHeadset". In the remote Windows machine it shows up as "Remote Audio". I´m quite sure that in the past, also on the remote machine the devices name "FranksHeadset" was displayed.

I as well can confirm Microsoft RDP 10.9.4 (2160) has not fixed the mic issue.

I can confirm that the latest update to Microsoft RDP, 10.9.4 (2160), unfortunately does not fix this problem.
