Devices that are updated to MacOS 15.01 will have frequent disconnects when on RDP sessions

Hi There,

We're facing an issue with the Windows App for MacOS devices.

When one of our users upgrades to the latest MacOS Sequoia update, version 15.01. They will face constant disconnects on RDP connections to servers. Often with the error code which will be attached to the support ticket.

 

The connection will last from only a couple of minutes, with the longest anyone has managed being around 30 minutes at the most before dropping out.

 

Since we have teams that need connections that last longer than 30 minutes, this is becoming very disruptive.

 

This doesn't impact those on previous MacOS versions or other operating systems.

 

Work around methods when looking online into this suggest turning local firewall settings off, which isn't possible due to company policy.

    That's a good point. We've been facing similar issues with drop-outs and poor connection quality on Slack Huddles as well, ever since the update to 15.01. I'm thinking you're right on this. 

    Definitely fingers crossed that it gets resolved with the next patch, if that's the case. Both issues have been quite disruptive to our users.

    I'm seeing this issue too. M1 Macbook Pro, saw it on the old version of the RDP App and updated to the new Windows App - issue persisted.

    My colleague is unaffected after updating his M3 Macbook Pro.

    I've noticed other network issues too - eg. drop-outs/ poor connection during Slack calls. I actually think it is simply an issue with this version of Apple's network stack. Hoping it is solved in 15.1 planned for release 28 Oct.   🤞🤞

        I'm also seeing this error frequently after upgrading to Mac OS 15.0.1, though the disconnect time is pretty random. It can stop after a few minutes, or be up several hours. It seems to have started when we switched from Crowdstrike to the Paloalto anti-malware tool.
