Storage review bench: Love it. Generally being a fan of good benchmarks for decades. Without checking the source, did they test with ESA (vSANs latest and fastest, technologically more comparable with S2D) or OSA (quite much overhead)?
- What could be a benefits of using SCVMM converting VMs from VMware to Hyper-V compared using Azure Migrate?
- Impressive session! A 1+ reference for customers that are still were in doubts. Thanks Jeff!
- Jeff if a customer is going Azure Stack to consolidate their distributed on-prem, is it ok that each cluster has it's own Azure Subscription and they would still be able to manage it as in one sub? Or is this a hindrance in terms of visibility in the portal? I understand that RBAC and Policies need to follow on that. But just for the view, can they expect everything in one pane?
- Not only hotpatching but also Azure Update Manager to get nasty things done for Windows Server, SQL and Linux Servers, for free (other than 5 bucks per VM per months if it runs 24/7 on-premises). But of course same applies to Azure Stack HCI.
- Planning to post a brief article, also on "rightsizing" Hyper-V and Azure Stack HCI at the end of this week on techcommunity in the Windows Server IT pro space.
- How about converting ESX hosts to HyperV hosts and becoming a HyperV shop?

The Azure Migrate tool can migrate VMware VMs to Azure today. Support for migrating to Azure Stack HCI is in private preview and will be going to public preview soon. If you're looking to convert from VMware to Windows Server with Hyper-V, use System Center Virtual Machine Manager. You can download System Center from the Evaluation Center. These are full featured 180-day evaluation (free). You can use SCVMM to move VMware VMs during the eval period. An idea for a webinar would be just that, migrate from VMware to Hyper-V with SCVMM if anyone has time. I have been using VMware for the last 15 years, and suspect there is a lot to learn to make the jump and do it well. If someone has been doing HyperV for some time, I would much appreciate the help.
