What can be done to help devices get policies faster? Same for actions like Wipe/reset/reboot? Asking because we often see, like others in the community reported that it doesn't come down to the devices or it does but hours/days later?

Nov 17, 2022Are you seeing that devices are not getting the policies within 8 hours?
Note - I believe devices need to be active to sync the policies
- lalanc01Nov 17, 2022Iron ContributorHow can we check if a device is active or not? thks

I can attest some policies do seem to take a long time to trickle down, even for desktops. Yes, you can force users to sync in Intune/Company Portal, but it's not the best way to get a user updated.

In Windows rather than full reboots, you can also try restarting the Microsoft Intune Management Extension service. This will force a check in and sync. There are a lot of other variables to consider with the mobile devices, for example if they are poor or low service at the time of Intune attempting to push the policies, delaying the sync until next check in. Additionally, we've seen the policy itself causing delays, for example where you are assigning using dynamic groups and those groups can sometimes take a while to process and update - and then - Intune will push the policy. So, in short there are many variables, and I would suggest you open a support ticket for assistance specific to your situation if this behavior continues. Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the Android support at this time. Perhaps my colleagues will chime in further.- treestryderNov 17, 2022Iron ContributorNeed local admin rights to restart a service. Whereas anyone can reboot.
