HI HeyHey16K There are a couple ways to set the timezone in Intune - either from a script or from Settings Catalog. Because Autopilot skips the Privacy page in OOBE, there's no opt-in for Location services, so it's not something we can detect. Please see this post on aka.ms/IntuneFeedback and follow the suggestion https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/40e7ba5a-d159-ef11-b4ad-0022484d3ecc
Thank you Joe, am a bit confused though... when the computer is in OOBE before Autopilot starts, Intune isn't managing it at that stage?
- Joe_LurieJun 19, 2025Microsoft Intune doesn't know about devices until the Autopilot process starts. When you power on a device > select language > select keyboard > Connect Network, the device then checks with the greater Autopilot service. The Autopilot service recognizes the hash and talks to Entra who talks to Intune, who sends the Autopilot profile to the device. The network page is skipped if the device is physically plugged into network, but the process is the same.
tl/dr: Intune can't manage the device before Autopilot starts, as it doesn't know the device has been powered on until Autopilot starts and recognizes the device.
- Jason_SandysJun 19, 2025Microsoft Hi HeyHey16K, For non-Windows Autopilot device preparation, the Autopilot profile is downloaded before the OOBE UX experience is presented to the interactive user.
