Hello! What is Microsoft's recommended method of installing the Company Portal app now that Store for Business is no longer supported? We have SCCM co management enabled and are looking at using Intune to deploy applications.

Hi Jason, not sure on the MS supported way, but we have the same config as yourselves by the sounds of it. We are deploying it through Intune still, but using the 'Microsoft Store app (new)' one and not the 'Microsoft Store for Business' one. Works a treat for us
- Jason_BergerJun 15, 2023Copper ContributorThanks for the replies! I would like to clarify we have the Microsoft Store disabled for the organization. This has been our main issue. Could we still use tenant connector for the Business Store? I have seen some details for that but thought it was an outdated method. Thanks again for the assistance

We had the Business Store connector enabled previously and as a result we get the option for 'Microsoft Store app (new)' when creating an App within Intune. This was introduced through an Intune update a few months back after being in preview for a while. We still also have 'Microsoft Store app (legacy)' appearing but no longer use it and assume it will disappear soon? Would welcome advice from MS on this though. We to also have the MS Store for Business disabled as an organisation on our devices, all SfB apps now delivered through Intune via the new route.

Microsoft
The Microsoft Store for Business connector is unrelated to deploying apps from the Microsoft Store using the new app type in Intune for Store apps. The connector is deprecated and associated functionality is slowing being retired and removed from Intune. The Microsoft Store for Business is also deprecated and will be retired in the somewhat near future (although we haven't announced a date for that yet). Using the "Microsoft Store app (new)" app type in Intune is the preferred method to deploy all apps from the Microsoft Store. The "Microsoft Store app (legacy)" app type in Intune is essentially a deep link that opens the Microsoft Store app on the targeted device when initiated by the end user where they must then click Install (and possibly log in with their MSA depending on the app). This is most likely not desired and we do also have intent to retire this app type in the future.
