For clarification regarding updates coming to Outlook set to occur January 28th and February 11th: Will these updates affect the functionality of Classic Outlook for users? Furthermore, will Classic Outlook retain compatibility during the implementation of Windows 11 and throughout this transition period? We are also interested in receiving strategies for the timely implementation of the new Outlook to facilitate a gradual rollout, which may be tailored to accommodate staff members who are accustomed to Classic Outlook.
MicrosoftIn the M365 Admin Center, there is a Message Center post MC976059 that addresses this. The summary is as follows: "New Outlook exists as an installed app on the device. For instance, it can be found in the Apps section of the Start Menu. It does not replace existing (classic) Outlook or change any configurations / user defaults. Both (classic) Outlook and New Outlook for Windows can run side by side." Classic Outlook is not going away any time soon. You can use this side by side installation to allow users to get comfortable with the new Outlook while retaining access to Classic Outlook.
how can we prevent Outlook (new) app from installing on enterprise systems and do a controlled distribution?
or will Windows 10/11 Enterprise not ever receive it automatically?Will GCC have any affect?

The February update will install the new Outlook (MC976059 message center post). The post includes the following linked guidance for enterprise customers who want to remove it:

so February will have a brand new automatic push of Outlook (new) to even Windows Enterprise clients? We just spent a lot of time removing Microsoft.OutlookForWindows from programfiles\windowsapps. will having that package removed now prevent the install in February?
when i go to message center i don't see MC976059, perhaps because we are GCC? if we don't see the message, then that means our organization will not receive the February install of Outlook (new)?
