from the theoretical knowledge it seems that MSIX is still a niche and has some limitations due to technical reasons. Windows 11 will allow non MSIX apps (win32) in the Store. Which is great yet:
What is the strategy with MSIX for on-premises application deployment outside AVD?
Is it considered to be a better successor of MSI and other installers?
Some would want to have an easy usage of MSIX for Windows Server, same for Winget to manage their software deployment and dynamic assignment (msix app attach) on Windows 10/11 on-premises and definetely Windows Server 2019 and later.
What are your plans for these scenarios? Can we expect that MSIX will be a universal tool to deploy apps on-premises for Client and Servers?
Outside of Microsoft Projects on github I see pretty much no one adopting MSIX as a default or common installer, very unfortunately. Is this something you are working on and what is the feedback from developers and vendors about MSIX?

Jul 21, 2021MSIX is the evolution of our Windows Installer. We are working actively with several vendors and developers to package their apps as MSIX. The Store today supports developers submitting their apps as MSIX and majority of apps today in the Store are packaged as MSIX. We encourage you to talk to your ISVs and package their app as MSIX.
