ESJeffL , good question and I get this a lot, let me give you my elevator pitch, DM me if desired and we can talk more. Short answer to your question. I like to think of the value of W365 synonymous to the value customers got when migrating from Exchange on-prem to Exchange online. With Exchange online you assign a license and in minutes a mailbox is created, with Exchange on-prem there is so much overhead for setup and massive amounts of maintenance. W365 is a SaaS just like Exchange Online, made simple and made to run in the Cloud. The value is simplicity and speed. The time to deployment is super easy with W365 as I explain, 1 license assignment and 4 questions so customers already using Intune can adopt it super quick.

ESJeffL , that question can be answered a few different ways, without knowing more about your AVD deployment makes it also a difficult question to directly answer. Direct Message me or ping me on LinkedIn and we can meet to chat. Meantime, the main talking points I give when customers ask me the questions, "I have AVD, why would we consider W365?", my first question is are you using multi-session, if so then stay with AVD, if using personal/dedicated then consider W365. That said, even if you are using multi-session you may consider switching based on usage patterns of those users. Customers find the greatest value in W365 from the simplicity of it and ease to deploy and maintain. If you are already comfortable with your AVD then stay with it, the two solutions are meant to complement each other not conflict.
