- David_SwensonIron ContributorCan we PLEASE have a native way to easily convert Active Directory Joined devices to Azure AD Joined Devices WITHOUT the need for Hybrid setup? Many of our customers are abandoning their on-prem DCs faster than ever.
- William_Turnley_0RSCopper ContributorDavid_Swenson In my 25 years of experience with Windows, changes for the better have come slow and Active Directory? Not much about that "L'l Baby" ever has come easy! Good luck with that! - wlt. For me, simply trying to get a picture displayed on a Folder, as it has been since XP, is going to take a long time! And this, even though it's shown clearly in properties and customize of folders. It doesn't work. In other words, for Active Directory, don't expect anything quickly!
- David_SwensonIron ContributorThanks rob. This is essential for our MSP community and can't wait to see this come to light.

Welcome to the Windows Management AMA. Let's get started! Post your questions in the Comments. Steve Dispensa and crew will be answering questions in the live stream—and others will be answering here in the chat.
- SteveB_SCBrass ContributorI've heard rumblings about LAPS or a LAPS alternative being developed for Azure. Can you shed any light on that?
- TLADSCopper ContributorWe are using Local User Group Membership policy in MEM > Endpoint Security > Account Protection ... it is not LAPS but it helps.
- Chris_Gilles_1337Copper ContributorWhat does Microsoft recommend for local user profile migration? For example, when joining device to AAD a brand new local user profile is created leaving everything from my workgroup or domain local user profile behind. Will Windows 11 offer any sort of profile migration tool?
- rejohnsonIron ContributorWe have found ForensIT's ProfileWiz very helpful in migrating local profiles to another domain, whether AD or AAD.
- Chris_Gilles_1337Copper ContributorHey Russel, I found that that actually attempts to "migrate" the local user profile instead of copying the data - is that still the case? I wrote a script to do everything; so the end user truly doesn't know they have a new computer, but I'm wondering what else is out there. Thanks for the input.
- TLADSCopper ContributorWill you consider changing it so that devices that are enrolled by an end user in Intune management will not assign Local Admin to that end user by default? I realize that there is a way to resolve this using Autopilot or Local User Group Mgmt policies but it is not suitable for all scenarios and may create a small gap in which the device can be exposed.
- treestryderIron ContributorThe Microsoft Store was more than a collection of applications. Requiring apps to be packaged as MSIX and APPX made even traditional/non-UWP applications safer, as well as easier to deploy and maintain. I feel like allowing MSI and EXE installers into the Store was a move away from years of effort to improve security/privacy/reliability/manageability. Would you please speak to this concern?
- David_SwensonIron Contributor+1 @ Nathan. I would really like to see some formal documentation on how we are going to manage application deployment with the impending retirement of the MS Store for Business. Also, any updates on leveraging WinGet with Intune natively? 🤞

Microsoft
The plan that we spelled out at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/windows-it-pro-blog/evolving-the-microsoft-store-for-business-and-education/ba-p/2569423 is still the most up-to-date plan. The Windows Package Manager integration into Intune is still being developed, so you're right there is not alot of documentation. But we'll have more to offer on Package Manager and on Winget when the solution is closer to preview and the eventual general availability.
- David_SwensonIron ContributorSharePoint Library auto-sync has become a critical part of our customer's workflows. Autopilot often struggles to make sure SharePoint Libraries sync in a timely manner (sometimes takes upwards of a full day and a few system reboots). Are there plans to make this faster on Windows 11? Also, can we have a central management dashboard in MEM to show us the status of the SharePoint Sync?

The Windows Management AMA starts in 10 minutes. Post your questions in the Comments now.
- shawnsafrCopper ContributorWhy does Windows Update download and add a driver version that already exists in the driver repository? Why does it download older versions of a driver and override the newer one?
- ccatlett1984Copper ContributorWill the on-demand Process Elevation feature be backported to Windows 10, or be available in Windows 11 only? Will this be limited to the Enterprise SKU?
