Please cancel your planned "Desktop Shortcuts" feature. The desktop belongs to the user, not app developers. If the user wants a desktop shortcut, he or she can create it himself/herself.

The current implementation in the MSIX Packaging Tool does not enforce Desktop Shortcut creation. Rather, it aims to provide flexibility to Developers and IT Professionals who wish to ensure a consistent end-user experience post application conversion. The features will be optimized further as we continue supporting an open platform that empowers app developers to achieve more.
