It was mentioned that it will be a recommended path to use TPM chips as part of passwordless integration. The issue with using the TPM chips is the limit of users on shared devices. Will there also be a cloud based option for using windows hello in Windows 11 that will overcome this obstacle?
- R_StarzuftJul 21, 2021Iron ContributorIf a FIDO key is an option why not just require it too instead of tossing working devices ? There are keys available that allow both authentication and portability. Do we really need to toss the expensive systems ?
- mikeh14Jul 21, 2021Copper Contributorbecause purchasing Fido keys is a lot more expensive over a 2 year period than it is to maintain a virtual CA environment...... Not to mention the management overhead of maintaining those keys. Having an environment that puts as little strain on the end user, as well as removing the management of keys is more than worth the price of admission.

You are correct. A solution can be to use a FIDO2 security key for multi user PCs. Visit https://aka.ms/gopasswordless
- mikeh14Jul 21, 2021Copper ContributorShould have been more specific. The goal is to use Windows Hello for Business with facial recognition in a hybrid environment. One of the largest obstacles to overcome is the necessity for antiquated methods of passing credentials by federating the environment and using a CA server. Is there going to be a better path using cloud based security to connect to the hybrid environment?
