Windows 8.1 as an OS will stop being supported on Jan. 10, 2023. So all OS components will stop being supported. Server 2012 end support in Oct 2023.

This is an unfortunate decision. I have had to deploy Chrome in lieu of Edge to our remaining 2012 R2 servers as they will be around for a few months after Jan 2023, and I worry about if the support date for Edge on Windows Server will also be arbitrarily cut off before the Server 2016 or Server 2019 EOL dates.
