- JochenB007Copper ContributorWhen will WUfB from the Configuration side like WSUS/ConfigMgr? See all available updates, postpone/do not deliver updates, maybe uninstall already installed updates?
- I would appreciate that a lot. Thank JochenB007
- David_MebaneMicrosoftHi Folks - I'd recommend you take a look at the Windows Update for Business deployment service: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/windows-it-pro-blog/announcing-the-windows-update-for-business-deployment-service/ba-p/2178419 This service represents the evolution of WUfB with a focus on full control of content delivered from Windows Update. Today it supports Feature Updates and Expediting quality updates, but you can learn more about our plans around Drivers and Firmware here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/windows-it-pro-blog/introducing-a-new-deployment-service-for-driver-and-firmware/ba-p/2176942 When we think about full control, this definitely includes the ability to postpone and/or skip updates. 🙂 If you have other features you'd like to see added, please let us know!
- What are requirements for Known Issue Rollback and the settings for Telemetry
- SteveThomasMicrosoftFor enterprise customers, Microsoft provides a policy definition MSI file. Enterprise customers can propagate the KIR to managed systems by using the enterprise Group Policy infrastructure. More information can be found here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-client/group-policy/use-group-policy-to-deploy-known-issue-rollback#the-kir-process
- lalanc01Iron ContributorWhen can we expect to have Cumulative update reporting in Intune and have some workbooks example for Update Compliance like Peter van der Woude did so that it's easier for admins to have compliance visibility in WUFB like we can have in SCCM. I think this would really help making WUFB a no brainer for those who are holding up because if this.
- David_GuyerMicrosoftThank you for your feedback, and it truly makes sense. Filling out these reports and information is part of the journey we are on as we add more support for managing updates based on the Windows Update for Business Deployment Service and the data pipeline that is a part of that. You can see the basic reports for Feature update policies and Expedited quality updates today in Intune / MEM Admin Center. These reports provide current update state, like downloading or waiting to restart, as well as better error alerts w/ proposed remediations. We are looking at how we can provide even more control of Quality Updates and similar reporting in Intune.
- Laser235Copper ContributorWill Windows 11 be offered as a next feature updating Windows 10 to 11? If so are there changes or configurations in group policy to allow a Windows 11 feature update to move to Windows 11.
- Hi Laser235 the GPO settings are redesigned (while same in function / registry keys set). You can use them already using the Policydefnitions from a Win11 client.
- Christian ZenzanoBrass ContributorHow will Windows 10 20H1 know if it need to upgrade to Windows 10 20H2 or Windows 11?
- Many customers still hesistate to leave WSUS as they would like to have one dashboard for reporting for Client OS and Windows Server. With featureset as JochenB007 highlighted. Is this something WuFB would be going to or will there still be two different "solutions" for these customers. Currently WSUS, with all drawbacks aside, offers exactly this.
- David_GuyerMicrosoftThis is really good feedback and helpful as we are developing our plans for the evolution of on-premisis and cloud based management solutions. Thank you.
- you're welcome. Please feel free to get in touch with me to explain usecases. I work for CEMA / Netgo which are partnered with Microsoft and there are many customers that would be amazed about a full cloud solution to dump WSUS. Especially since the time of Work from Home.
- Neil GoldsteinIron ContributorThe implementation of this AMA results in my email box exploding with messages. I had to unsubscribe to get it to stop.
- AriaUpdatedMicrosoftYou can fix this in settings for tech community. 🙂

Welcome to the Windows Update for Business Ask Microsoft Anything (AMA)! This live half hour gives you the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback to the engineering and product teams building Windows. Introduce yourself by replying to this thread. Post each question in the Comment on this event… box above.
- cdorfBrass ContributorWe use rings for our WUB, will we be able to tell WUB which ring will move to W11 while others ride the W10 Train?
- David_GuyerMicrosoftYes, you will be able to control which rings are given the green light to upgrade to Windows 11, and this will only happen if you explicitly configure it to do so. The default will be to stay on Windows 10.
- cdorfBrass ContributorThanks David! Follow up Q- if a device in the W11 ring isn't compatible with W11 will it still get updates to W10, or will manual intervention be required?
- lalanc01Iron ContributorIs there or can we have a troubleshooting guide on how to fix WUFB issues, like devices not seeing the updates offerings and other issues?

I'd recommend the following resources as a starting point:
- This blog and linked whitepaper cover best practices for optimizing update adoption: Real-world practices to optimize Windows 10 update deployments - Microsoft Tech Community
- This blog provides you with an Update Baseline toolset to simplify application of best practices and policies on your devices: Roll out updates faster with the Update Baseline for Windows 10 - Microsoft Tech Community
- Update Compliance provides detailed errors and recommendations for digging into specific issues, and we are continuing to invest in this data set to improve the insights and usability.
Let us know if there are questions that are not covered in the above resources!
