Win 10 Home Edition (Ver. 22H2): Win32 Long Pathname Error Message (< 260 Character Pathnames)
Attempted MS provided solution, but failed (from an earlier Paulo response 5/16/2023):
Simplified issue,
Using Win10 Home File Explorer application, I’m essentially using a Windows “COPY” (Drag & Drop) operation to transfer a Root Directory (Folder) from one “temporary” drive to another “destination” drive as follows:
1). SanDisk 8GB SD Card – “temporary scratchpad” to SanDisk USB 3.0 16GB Flash drive (destination) when “Paths Too Long” error message is displayed with Registry Key REG_DWORD Enabled = 1.
2). SanDisk 8GB SD Card – “temporary scratchpad” to SanDisk USB 3.0 1TB Extreme Portable SSD (destination) with NO “Paths Too Long” error message with Registry Key REG_DWORD Enabled = 1.
3). To complicate matters, I can perform 2) above successfully even with Registry Key REG_DWORD Disabled = 0. (NO "Paths Too Long" error message)
