SharePoint: I did a SharePoint migration, taking Google Workspace to SharePoint. IT did not go well. The migration tool just doesn't seem to work. I spent numerous hours on the line with the helpdesk folks to no avail. Finally did the migration by hand. You need to make this tool better. Good news is the client loves SharePoint much more than Google Workspace. Thanks.

Vishal et al, I am a very technically capable user. I tried for weeks before the final migration date to make your tool work. It just didn't. I followed every step, double checked that the steps were in place, and yet, when the time came to migrate the files from Google, the tool failed. All pieces were in place both at Google and in MSFT. There was nothing missing. Yet it failed. Over and over again. I contacted MSFT support and they simply walked me through the same steps I had done. I got the feeling the support people knew virtually nothing about the tool. I actually showed them steps they didn't know. In frustration I gave up and simply did manual copies of the files. Extremely time consuming and luckily it was a small org. (under 10 people). But I really walked away thinking that whatever you *thought* you were creating, it was never actually tested in a real world environment. My suggestion is that you remove the tool and simply tell people to use 3rd party tools until you get it to work. I still have my environment setup in Google if you want to contact me about the whole project. The tool as it stands is far worse than no tool at all.
