Is Microsoft considering revisiting the SharePoint Alerts retirement timeline?

The current alternatives Microsoft recommends—SharePoint Rules and Power Automate—do not yet provide full feature parity with classic SharePoint Alerts and continue to present usability and capability gaps for end users. For example:

• SharePoint Rules are not fully supported for classic sites and does not work with read permission unlike SharePoint Alerts.
• Limited out‑of‑the‑box Power Automate templates exist to replace common Alert scenarios
• Recreating daily/weekly summaries, change tracking with previous values, or item deletion notifications requires advanced Power Automate expertise

Given these gaps, we ask Microsoft to reconsider the retirement date and extend SharePoint Alerts until functional parity is available in the modern alternatives.
