What role does Microsoft Syntex™ play in understanding *everything* in the file share and classifying it as it gets migrated to the Microsoft cloud?

    We have future plans to allow 3P data to participate in Syntex through Microsoft Graph connectors which will function similar to how you can bring data into the Microsoft 365 data state with Microsoft Search today. Nearer term, Syntex will soon work with images and emails (as well as DAV connector data) as we expand the offer beyond SPO.

    Syntex only works on files in SPO. So one answer would be to upload content to a location with Syntex models applied and Syntex will classify and extract documents as migrated. However, currently Syntex doesn't work on external content prior to migration.
