- Are there plans to have Office app Comments that get assigned to a user as a task surface in the Assigned to me list in Planner?

Yes there are plans to ensure these assigned comments appear in the Assigned to me list in the future. We're actively working on this capability but it hasn't launched yet, so stay tuned for an update from our team!- HowardCrowYes - these will appear in the Tasks in Teams app like all other tasks.
- Currently or in the future? My experience is they currently do not for my tenant. I also have issues with Loop Task component assigned tasks syncing to Planner. (this is being looked into)

- Roadmap: Microsoft Project: Email notifications for late project tasks Feature ID: 117364 I hope that's configurable. My org will probably revolt. Wish some of these settings could be administratively set, too - would help with buy-in.
- Thanks for the input Ian. The initial version of 'Email notifications' for projects would be similar to the due date notifications on planner. Can you please share more details of what sort of configurations you have in mind and what sort of scenarios do you have in mind?
- oh crud. My org complains loudly about how chatty and loud planner notifications are. We just started piloting P4W for team visibility and control of project tasks and this sounds like it will decimate all gains. I'm near certain this will shut our pilot down. I'd like the ability as an admin of "Project" to set default configurations for everything you let the user pick as it relates to their choices/options for Project.... and if you choose to launch something new I haven't been able to configure, launch it in a silent / off mode and let people opt into getting annoyed.
- So here is a question for you. SharePoint Lists are being marketed as a task management tool...even comes with a board view, custom field capabilities are native. So, when would you advise a user to use Project for the Web over a SharePoint list for task management? When would you advise them to use a SharePoint list for task management over Project for the Web? Planner is not an option since you can't create custom fields. These are the types of questions users are asking...and so far the answers I'm finding are that it's up to the user...which doesn't help them. It's like the Project team and SharePoint team are in direct competition with each other...very strange approach.

- The Microsoft Team template for Project Management includes two SharePoint lists. One for Issue Tracking and one for Project Tracker. These are both assignable task lists and very customizable as a SharePoint list. While not "marketing", it is clearly included as beefier option than Planner for project task management.
- I was considering using SharePoint Lists in lieu of Planner Tasks. But there is not, to my knowledge, a roll-up of a user's assigned tasks across Lists. That sunk the option for me. But I like how the List option is so configurable.
- Any plans on creation of sub-projects - meaning, can a (one or more) separately created sub-project included or combined in one joint project planning?

- Are there already migration guides from Project Online & SE to Project for the web available? How difficult will it be to migrate projects?

- Is it possible to freeze the task column on the grid view? It can be hard to keep track of which task is on which line when scrolling over to the right.

- You can add cost fields into the app in power platform (using project team member table etc) if you are using project in power platform
- Well, no thanks. I want my users to do it through P4W, so I need something like cost table direct in P4W
- Are there any plans to provide a backup and retention policy for the default Project for the Web environment. It would be helpful to be able to restore data or to shift it to e.g. database automatically. Thank you.
- I'm not aware of any plans Anton - there are options, as you are probably aware, in named dataverse environments, so depending on your needs that might decide if you use named or the default org. As you will see from other answers here, we are pushing to get equivalence of features and behaviors between default and named.

- Whilst this is on the roadmap for Microsoft (over next few months) you can currently add custom fields against project if you are using project the power platform
- And none of those are visible at the task level in the modern P4W, right? You'd need to use the power platform and see them only at the project level with this solution?
