Our team is actively designing improvements comments and mentions, and we hope to have something to announce in the near future. Currently for premium plans pinned to channels, you can start a chat about the task and mention your teammates in this chat.

    Glad to hear its being worked on. You should be able to mention people easily, after all Teams is all about comms! (note my other comment re @'ing someone to a new task conversation in premium plan takes more clicks that it should

    Why lock down the features of Planner to Premium only?! Being able to forward emails into planner and being able to chat about tasks with team members is critical and should be available to all. Please.
