Event details
Join us for two special events where our Planner product team shares what is coming to the new Microsoft Planner.
In our Meet the Makers virtual event on April 3rd, leaders from the Planner product team will talk about the latest on the future of task and work management for Microsoft 365. They will explain how the new Microsoft Planner brings together the simplicity of Microsoft To Do, the collaboration of Microsoft Planner, the power of Microsoft Project for the web - with the intelligence of Microsoft Copilot - into a simple, familiar experience.
Our experts will showcase some of the key new capabilities and improvements of the new experience, including demonstrations on how to leverage Copilot in Planner to create plans, tasks, and goals and get Copilot to answer questions on progress, priorities, workload and more.
On April 4, we will host a special Ask Microsoft Anything (AMA). During the AMA session members of the Planner product team will answer questions directly from the community. This is a great opportunity to get answers to any questions you may have from the recent Meet the Makers event.

- JVannoBrass Contributor1. Can we get @mention a user in the comments section? Please! 2. Will we be able to hide premium options from regular end users? Would like for them to not even know what is available unless we want to purchase the license for them.
- mylogi88Brass ContributorWould it have any Sprint/Scrum capabilities like tying smaller tasks to bigger tasks/goals?
- LisaJo48Iron ContributorWill this be recorded? April is Spring Break month so I, along with many others, may not be able to attend the actual meeting. Thanks!

Hi LisaJo48, yes this will be available as an on-demand recording on this same event page, as soon as our livestream is done.

Will the new Planner allow for the option to not create an email address when a new Planner is setup? If not, how do I remove the email addresses it sets up? My clients don't need email addresses for each project and worse the email addresses are flooding the address book and it can be annoying. Yes, I've tried not having them appear in the GAL but they end up reappearing anyway.

When a user shares a plan, it is either shared with an existing M365 group, or a new M365 group is created. The email addresses are for the group, and not for the plan. Thank you.- RichLuskIron ContributorSince the email address is not for the plan then can I remove the email address?
- prashantguptagBrass ContributorSince Planner premium features are mainly the Project for Web features, therefore my question goes to P4W. - MS Power Platform team recommends not to use Default environment for production use apps, but P4W deployment is mainly showcased in default environment. Even though it is possible to deploy P4W in dedicated Power Platform environments but then we are not sure what will be the limitations as compared to Default environment deployment. Could you please provide more details on this aspect? - Also, how O365 licensed users can collaborate with projects created by Project licensed users when these projects are deployed in dedicated Power Platform environments? This is a major requirement for our users to collaborate on tasks and O365 licensed users should be able to update the tasks (status, dates etc.) - How a task will be moved from standard Planner to Premium planner project?
- Ghizzi_dBrass ContributorWill these be recorded and shared please?
- pevansCopper ContributorWe have many planner cards within our team. The planner cards capture all the projects each engineer is supporting on one spot. Each planner card is essentially a miniproject and can span from 1 month to 6 months. Can you demonstrate how the new planner will allow us to see all planner cards and have it show the following: 1. ) it is an active project for the engineer. is vs we are waiting on parts to be tooled up for 6 months (and hence inactive for us at the moment). 2.) the planner cards can show via special field for estimated project hours remaining for the project for that individual. Sometimes there are 3 individuals on a planner card - and it would be nice to show each of their workload/remainer hours for that planner card. 3.) provide a graph by workload by engineer by week and show the changes as the weeks go by. 4.) is there a easy way to print out the planner cards on a 3x5 card so we post as a visual display since we can't see them all on one screen. or is there a way to visually see all the planner cards on one screen. we have over 200+ planner cards under one "support project".
- mherremaIron ContributorWill non-premium Planner tasks end up living in Dataverse like their premium counterparts? Would make them more accessible/easier to automate with. When will we get "@user" tagging support/notifications in comments?
- Brian-SmithFormer EmployeeNo change in storage for basic plans right now. We hear the user request and it is on the backlog.
- Cody_190Copper ContributorHey there! Does this new version of Planner incorporate the P4W Accelerator? It has been a headache needing to constantly copy over all the tasks/to do's into a second area. I like the idea of having project, planner, and to-do all connected, but I have found very little info regarding if this also covers the accelerator version of P4W. Looking forward to the meeting on April 4th!
- Brian-SmithFormer EmployeeIt doesn't directly Cody, but if you have the Accelerator also loaded in your default Dataverse environment then any plan tasks assigned will show up in new Planner. If you have the accelerator in named environments then this will be supported at a later date.
- CityofBrandonCopper ContributorI'm also curious about this! We've needed to deploy accelerator for its functionality. However, it appears like baselines and portfolio management are part of the upcoming releases. Do I need to plan an accelerator rollback?
- Brian-SmithFormer EmployeeYou certainly may need to consider if some of the Accelerator capabilities are still needed once features like portfolio come along - but I feel it will be more of a trim back than roll back.
