TimLynch-OCM in Premium plans we support task dependencies, which allow you to link tasks together just like you are describing. Then, the Planner scheduling engine will automatically update your plan's schedule anytime a predecessor task's dates are updated.

Great now I just need to SELL the leadership team to buy 'another premium' license. They are getting tired of me asking for Teams Premium, CoPilot, etc... now Planner Premium.
