hope the onedrive business gets the same photo look and feel as in the personal, and it would be nice if you could resync your photos again on a phone, as on a new phone you copy all the data over, and restore the apps but onedrive fails to resync all photos to onedrive, there should be a setting to force this and with yes over write. Prevents losing data.

Great session thank you! Awesome new capabilities - will be a big leap forward in helping users and organizations with the mountain of content they create and manage! As a former MSFT Office and SharePoint Support Escalation Engineer, and now a partner, I am still helping organizations with how to better organize and manage their content - the Adoption Center is a huge help there!

Shortcuts > Sync. Love them!
About Shortcuts vs Sync, doesn’t the OneDrive app/service still have to process and look for changes across the whole location you are using as a shortcut or sync?
While I would like to set up a shortcut from the Library level, it feels like the OneDrive sync client is very busy checking every file in the whole library I sync, each time my computer starts up.
I feel like I should do my part to save a thousand silicon trees and only create shortcuts to the folders I use within a library, reducing all that processing power.

Only the folder which was added and its contents sync. This makes folder shortcuts generally more performant than when using the “Sync” button—the one exception being when you add the shortcut at the root node.

There's a lot of references to user feedback--what channel do you prefer Windows users to use for reporting actionable feedback?
Great question about Sync vs Shortcut.
I think it’s really interesting when people think that the files “within” the Shortcut are their personal copy. Then they delete the files from “within” the Shortcut.
A OneDrive Shortcut is much like a Shortcut to a folder in a traditional file share. They both “teleport” you into the files that are shared with everyone. So everything we change including deleting files, effect everyone sharing those files.

It was recommended that if we are doing Tenant to Tenant migrations to consolidate (merge) that we should disable the "add a Shortcut to Onedrive" so as not to complicate the migration. Is that still a good recommendation?
I’m not sure how disabling the ‘add a Shortcut’ option would help simplify a migration. Perhaps by having a Shortcut in place before the migration, the OneDrive sync client will be really busy trying to sync all the changes as the migrated files arrive.
I want my users to be able to add Shortcuts so that when they cutover to using the files in the new location, they can start using the Shortcut option. I think it’s our best opportunity to get people off to a good start.

Will the SharePoint sync option be deprecated? We guide clients to not use the Sync option, use the Shortcut. I've seen too many document corruption events using the Sync option. Plus it's too easy for an end user to delete a folder or entire library via Sync (not with Shortcut).
Give us back the option to save emails to SharePoint via a link again (that went a way a few years ago)

Because of the performance benefits and access across devices, we generally recommend that you use folder shortcuts. However, there are a few scenarios for which shortcuts are not yet adequate such as cross-tenant and on-premises.
You can hide the “Sync” button with a cmdlet. Existing relationships are unaffected.

Because of the undeclared desyncing of other content in the directory tree and orphaning of previously synchronised content I am unable to recommend Folder Shortcuts to any organisation with existing Syncs use.
It's an unforgivable mess

I also have serious reservations about mixing shared corporate content in the space+OneDrive) previously used distinctly for personal corporate content.
The 'few' scenarios you mentioned are complete showstoppers for EVERY organisation I work with.

The photo experience in personal OD is great. Is it also coming in the same form to business accounts? It'd be awesome for customers with extensive media library (events-based business).

So glad to hear you are enjoying the photo experience for consumers!! We have every intention of improving the commercial media experience in OneDrive as well, but we don't have anything to share on that right now.

I also like the photo experience in OneDrive Personal. When will the People feature be available? I would really appreciate your response, Eli Waalkes

The new admin tools for SharePoint Online are great, but most of us use separate admin accounts with PIM, which means those accounts are unlicensed. Is there any plan to link accounts so Copilot can be accessed from both?
