What steps do I have to follow to update my users to the new VDI solution for Teams?
- Fernando_KlurfanOct 17, 2024
Microsoft
For AVD and W365 customers, the update happens automatically if you meet the minimum requirements (24193.1805.3040.8975 and Windows App: 2.0.285.0 / Remote Desktop Client:1.2.5405.0). Once they launch Teams, the Remote Desktop client / Windows App will install automatically the new media engine (SlimCore) on the endpoint and the user will be upgraded to VDI 2.0 once they restart Teams.- Rishi-PochirajuOct 17, 2024Occasional ReaderWhat are the major project milestones to migrate from our current VDI solution to VDI 2.0? Are there any considerations for staging and testing VDI 2.0 prior to full rollout?
- Ray_DavisOct 17, 2024Copper ContributorI would suggest you go through this link and spend some time looking at the requirements, the fixes, and the current issues with workarounds. I know it's not the answer you are looking for but, the docs do outline a great deal of Data. The question you are asking is environmental, but it's a solid question. 1. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/new-teams-vdi-requirements-deploy 2. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/vdi-2
