Event Ended
Thursday, Oct 26, 2023, 09:00 AM PDTEvent details
We are very excited to announce a Microsoft Teams ‘Ask Microsoft Anything’ (AMA) specific to the new Microsoft Teams, now generally available!
The AMA will take place on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. PT in the comment section below.
An AMA is a live online event similar to an “Ask Me Anything” on Reddit. This AMA gives you the opportunity to connect with members of the product engineering team who will be on hand to answer your questions and listen to feedback.

- JohnSteckrothCommunity ManagerThanks for joining us for this Microsoft Teams AMA for the new Microsoft Teams! We'll be getting these last questions answered soon.
- nirucksCopper ContributorA month has passed and I wonder, where the answers are. Is there a separate page for that? I see many unanswered questions in this comment section....
- mickey9531Copper ContributorI still don't see an answer for the question that I posted in the discussion. When will you be answering the rest of the questions or are you just ignoring the remaining questions now that the session is over?
- Malcolm GoodierCopper Contributor"We'll be getting these last questions answered soon" 1. please can you provide your definition of "soon"? 1a. does this definition include giving any reply at all in this public forum? “Ask Me Anything” I note that I may have misunderstood this forum opportunity because you did only say "ask" and did not ever actually promise any "answer", so please accept this as "feedback" for any future AMA sessions on any topic that maybe you ned to refer to a T&Cs sheet to set participant expectations.
- Malcolm GoodierCopper ContributorIs there any specific advice/recommendation on adopting New Teams successfully with Citrix Remote PC? We use old teams via Teams Machine Wide installer MSI deployed carefully after VDA LTSR 2203 CU3 on Windows 10, and wonder if it is: 1. safe to use new teams insted? 2. how much will be broken if HDX optimisation is not available any more with new teams?
- Malcolm GoodierCopper ContributorI realise that due to the time difference between PT and what was UK BST last Thursday, because I was in the middle of an after 5pm change implementation before I remembered that this was on it is why I only scraped in my question with 1 minute before closure...but I would still like some clarity specifically between functionality/deployment/usage of 'classic' teams in a Citrix Remote PC deployment vs. 'new' Teams in the same Citrix REmote PC environment. I note that the registry entry described at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/new-teams-vdi-requirements-deploy#citrix-virtual-apps-and-desktops-and-citrix-daas-requirements is crucial to enabling HDX optimisation for 'new' teams but I can't find 'classic' vs 'new' information in this Citrix use case to enable a business decision on when to move across. So far Citrix's documentation is completely missing any mention of 'New' teams configuration and troubleshooting, so if MIcrosoft can use your contact channels to nudge Citrix to do so that would also be immesnely helpful, epecaially now its GA and we have the 'classic' end date published.
- ConnyJayRosaCopper ContributorWill there be a "save this comment" feature again? I've noticed it's missing in the new version of Teams.
- Forrest_HSteel ContributorNot going to work the same way. Here is the latest on that Feature or lack of. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/new-teams-known-issues#:~:text=Ability%20to%20save%20messages%20and%20files%20in%20Teams
- nhawk258Iron ContributorWhen will the New Teams taskbar icon be updated? Having the "NEW" badge instead of a notification count or status icon is not good.
- DeletedWhat is the date of the event when the majority of these questions will be answered? Would like to let my team know. Thanks!
- nhawk258Iron ContributorWill Microsoft be actively reviewing the questions here after this AMA has closed to provide answers or are we done in 10 minutes?
- Victor Guzman LopezMicrosoftOur team will continue to review and answer questions after the event ends.
- Forrest_HSteel ContributorWill the Channel Posting Order be allowed as a Global Option to make all Channel Posts like the old format of Newest on Bottom to match the Classic? I do not like having to go into each Channel to change back to the Classic New on Bottom.
- Ben_EvansCopper ContributorHello, a limitation we have ran into with larger Teams meetings is that you cannot view more than 100ish participants under the People tab. In the last 2 months we have switched to Teams from Webex (Which lets you scroll through all 1000 participants on a meeting) and have already had disruptions in large Town Hall meetings. This has caused several issued with muting people during Q&A sessions, as well as made it difficult to see if someone is on the meeting quickly. Are there plans to add a complete list of who is on the meeting for Organizers to view?
- dre_876Copper Contributorsince the new Teams is out, i have had an issue with translation and languages. Before this version i was had the ability to have several langauges (example: English, Spanish and Portueguese). With the old teams i was able to type in whichever language and the spell check would adjust. With the new teams it doesnt adjust and there are always several red lines under the words once in a different langauge. Is there any fix or road map for this?
- jentrup491Brass ContributorThis page lists some issues with new client but not all. We have open tickets with Bug IDs assigned that are not on this list. Is there an up to date list of issues we need to be aware of with new Teams client? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/new-teams-known-issues
- nhawk258Iron ContributorWell if that isn't damning... Open bugs that aren't being tracked on the "known issues" page. Thanks Microsoft, great tracking.
