This is actually possible though admittedly not super intuitive and easy to find right now. If you look at your Image or other Objects from the left or right edge, you will notice there is a rotation handle in the middle of the bounding box from that angle. Grab that handle and rotate just like the ones on the front face edges and you can get your cheekily tilted image!
