Designing Your Mesh Event: How to Create a Great Immersive Experience
Event details
I have noticed there are a tool disparity between Mesh and Teams Immersive Spaces. Can we have the "personal stage" for Mesh? The shared screen isn't quite as crisp as it used to be (according to attendees and myself), if they are a bit away from the screen or over to the sides. It would be great if they could see it more clearly without being disruptive. And in the parity vein- can we have an amplify voice for the speaker for the whole space in Teams-- Or let us have a "sit people down" button to call people back to the meeting area? Amplify is in Mesh, but not Teams. Also- in Mesh, can we please share system sound too? Not just video?

- Matt_CrislerJun 04, 2024Brass ContributorThese are all really great ideas and we have a goal of enabling the tools across Teams Immersive Spaces and the Mesh App to be as similar as possible. We're exploring many of these, but do not have a detailed timeline or specific commitment for them yet. I'm excited to hear you ask for the option to "sit people down" as that is one we have discussed as likely interesting but not yet seen a critical mass of requests. Have you run into specific event scenarios where that has been needed?

YES! In two scenarios. 1) There are attendees that are having an issue with controlling themselves. The "use the left mouse button to look around" and "use the left mouse button to teleport" causes inexperienced attendees to jump against the screen or a wall, then they are upset, they don't know what to do, and their distress is distracting. 2) There are younger attendees who fidget, jump around, use the reacts in a distracting way, I need to be able to seat them to get them to focus gently without kicking them or ordering them around (which they won't react well to).
I'd love to be able to MUTE the sound of their reacts/emojis so they are not bothering the person next to them as well. A GREAT feature I wish we could do in Teams- is be able to put an attendee *back into Gallery* if they need to cool down. Right now you have to kick them out of the meeting all together, which is harsh. Out in the wild, people are willing to try, but they are ready to panic and hate it if they can. I need more management tools than what's in Teams by default. This isn't a flat surface anymore.
(speaking of audio, it would be great to be able to TURN DOWN the radio in the library area. That can cause complaints from those not eager to use the settings for audio, because they like the environmental sounds except for the radio volume)
