We're seeing a common problem with Autopilot device naming, where is the prefix-{SERIAL} results in a name longer than 15 characters, ~%50 of the time it doesn't truncate and name the device properly, and instead fails and leaves the device with a default name like DEFAULT-#### . MSFT support claims this is a known problem, but offered no workaround or solution. Is this something being actively worked on?
Huh.... is that what has been happening.... I've been meaning to look into that. Though, if Intune showed and exported the Enrollment Profile and/or Group Tag, the PC's name would never matter to us.
