Why do you need them to be Entra-joined overnight? What's forcing this or why is this a requirement? Or, asked another way, why is waiting for them to be replaced by the hardware refresh cycle not acceptable?
Hi Jason, hardware refresh is fine, and that is what we will do, any new PC, or any PC that needs to be reset for any reason, will be set up on Entra straight away.
If we had a migration method, we wouldn’t have to wait – in our case, four years – for all devices to be on Entra, thereby avoiding having two "types" of PCs.
It also affects our plans to phase out the local infrastructure, as we’ll have to keep AD running for longer.

Do you really have a near term goal of getting rid of on-prem AD and is Entra join really the critical path item?
Define "two types" of PCs and why this is so problematic? Everyone has to be (re-)trained no matter what. Also, even with some magic wand, won't you have some interoperability period no matter what? Is this truly that significant? Additionally, if you are fully ready for cloud-native and moved user data to OneDrive, implemented Windows Backup, and moved your apps to Intune, is resetting an existing device truly that big of a deal?
Happy to discuss more and would love to have some concrete data points from folks on these.
