Unpacking Endpoint Management: Set it and forget it? Windows update innovations
Event details
Thank you for this session. Our company has transitioned to cloud WUfB, with rings. We have recently had two different drivers automatically update and break the key services these PCs provide. Neither driver can be found in the Microsoft Update Catalog. Shouldn't everything that will automatically install be found in the MUC, hopefully by something found in the update logs?
My other question is what can we do about problem drivers? I know we can stop ALL driver updates. I know we can micromanage driver updates, currently without a GUI. I know we can continue to try to convince first level support at these companies, who do not understand we will not manually install drivers, that they need to fix their driver. What I wondered is, does/could Microsoft have a process for reporting driver update problems? Something that could more directly communicate to the folks doing the driver publishing at these large companies.
