I recommend using the manufacturer's recovery media. I am familiar with Dell, which will give you an up-to-date Windows image, and Lenovo, which will give you the exact version of Windows that came on the device when it was purchased (which is admittedly not great if that version is no longer supported by Intune). With this method, you need to keep some USB flash drives around with the recovery media, but you don't have to run an OSD environment.
