Thanks for your participation in this Meetup! Sharing a recap of the questions covered during the live Q&A:
Question – Do you think MSP-focused automation like Autopilot is still an efficient play? Or is this about standardizing security and compliance at scale? – answered at 25:58.
Question – Regarding app packaging and Intune. This is a functionality that has evolved a lot more recently. And more MSPs, it hasn’t always displaced their existing app deployment workflows. Can you speak a little bit about how it’s different in your experience and why it might be more secure to package and deploy apps from Intune, especially in this scenario? – answered at 27:58.
Question – Pre-provisioning mode takes a lot of time while running the ‘Account Setup’ phase because of app validation, etc. So in a scenario where Loaner devices (short term use) are required to be provisioned, Pre-provisioning takes a long time and is not a preferred option. I think this is where we are pivoting to use Self deployment method. It finishes the ESP pretty fast when the device is handed over to a user. Can you provide any inputs or suggestions based on your experience with building Loaner devices using Autopilot? – answered at 29:55.
Question – What’s your experience been with end users during this provisioning process? What are some best practices? What are some things to be aware of when preparing end users to participate in their own device provisioning? – answered at 32:38.
Question – For a few reasons, we prefer to configure the device using Immy.bot. We use Autopilot strictly to install the Immy.bot agent, and then auto-onboard the device using Immy. Currently we have the device using a tupple through the Partner Center instead of having the OEM or reseller add them as there is normally a cost associated with having the OEM add the devices. Is there something we’re not considering that would make using Autopilot or Intune a more desirable process? – answered at 35:08.
Question – Are you aware of any tool to see if a Windows PC has been previously registered(still registered to a tenant?). Use case is refurb/pre-used devices being handed out to a new user. Need to be able to see if PC is registered without opening the OEM box. – answered at 37:45.
Question – What’s the best way to standardize configurations across customers? – answered at 39:04.
