Hello Susan,
Depending on what the organization is trying to accomplish the free version is similar to the copilot in Bing where you get basics prompts and at no cost. However, if they are looking to get the integrations into Microsoft 365 applications they will need to convert to the paid option.

thanks, this is helpful. If I were to put the content, like an outline, into a generative AI tool and ask it to make a presentation in power point from the outline, how would that work and would it be free or would it cost to do this?

Hey Susan! Although you can't create a PowerPoint presentation from an outline without the paid version you can use this type of prompt to get a sample of slide topics and bullets: Can you create a slide presentation with topics and bullet points for each slide based on the outline below? [Post your outline here] - Margaret_FarmerMar 14, 2024Former EmployeeCreating a presentation from an outline would require the paid version of Copilot for Microsoft 365.

You could do that, absolutely, but the functionality of creating the PowerPoint would be unique to the M365 copilot and would not be free.- SusanTenbyMar 14, 2024Copper Contributorthanks, Miriam, how does one physically enter the text into Copilot? Just Copy & Paste? Or is there a functionality to upload the doc?

In M365, Copilot is available in the toolbar across all of the Office apps. So you can have a 20 page Word doc open, click on Copilot and ask natural language questions like "Can you shorten this by 5 pages? Write a summary of this doc under one page. Create an outline of this content. What are the most important insights in this paper?" Copilot answers natively in the Copilot pane, without an upload or additional steps. Because of the interoperability of Copilot, you can also say things like "Build a PowerPoint deck summarizing this doc." Or "Write a summary of this doc and start an email to send to my boss." It works similarly across all M365 apps - in Excel, you can open a large XLS and type questions in the Copilot toolbar like "Show me a graph of daily sales" or "Which product has the highest sales?" and Copilot answers within Excel.
