Are files indexed by Microsoft 365 Copilot when you set the share permission to "People in [Contoso] with the link can access."? Because people do this out of laziness instead of choosing the specific people who need access. This could unintentionally expose many files.

    No, these files are not indexed by the Semantic Index for Copilot unless they are shared via SharePoint Online via site inheritance. In this scenario, the file would only be indexed for a user if they interact with it, comment on it or is @ mentioned in it.
