Name confusion and inconsistencies - Bing Enterprise Chat vs. Copilot
Where is Microsoft going with this? Both names show up in different places. This is causing internal communication challenges.
When can we expect that Bing Enterprise Chat terminology to go away?

- Chris_SpiveyJan 17, 2024Copper ContributorThanks! Any help with landing on a consistent and explainable branding approach will be a big help with user education. It is tough with Bing Enterprise Chat, Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Sales Copilot, Security Copilot and GitHub Copilot, not to mention non-Microsoft company's use of copilot in a more general sense. I find myself having to explain a lot even before I get to talking about the use cases and potential benefits of Microsoft 365 Copilot.

Appreciate that feedback! In a nutshell, we're moving away from disparate names and it all falls under Microsoft Copilot. We're driving towards being more descriptive with use and purpose i.e. "Copilot for.." or "Copilot with.."
What used to be called Bing Chat Enterprise is now simply Copilot with commercial data protection, referencing the security that is valued when signed in with your Entra ID account.Copilot for Microsoft 365 is Copilot in the various Microsoft 365 apps that's an add-on license for use with your Entra ID account.
