Building user skills in the world of AI: Prompting fundamentals
Event details
For usage of Copilot during a Channel Meeting that is being recorded and transcribed, it appears that the content generated only stays as long as I'm in the Copilot panel. If I switch to Chat and then back to Copilot panel, my previously generated content is gone. However, during non-Channel meetings that is being recorded and transcribed, the Copilot content stays even if I jump into other panels like Chat or Notes. When I come back to Copilot everything that it previously generated from my earlier prompts is there. Will Channel Meetings be updated to have Copilot function the same as it does in non-Channel Meetings?
Copilot is currently available during the meeting for Channel meetings. For post-meeting, you need will need to use Copilot in Stream on top of the recording since there is currently no Meeting Recap for Channel meetings.

Alyson_Ginesta - thank you for the information. However, there is an issue with Copilot during a Channel meeting. The results from prompting only stay in the side panel as long as you have the Copilot panel open. If you go to look at chat or maybe you want to see the list of people, then go back to Copilot panel - all of your previously generated content is gone. This does not happen during a regular Teams meeting. The Copilot-generated content in a regular meeting stays in the panel even if you close the panel and go to chat and then back to Copilot again.
This current function during Channel meetings limits you from doing anything else in the Channel meeting unless you are constantly copying the output before opening/switching to other panels.
During Channel meetings will the Copilot-generated content only display while the Copilot panel is active, then you will need to re-prompt to get your results back?
- gema258Mar 13, 2024Copper ContributorThank you for the information. I completely agree, and it's definitely an important consideration. However, there seems to be an issue with Copilot during Channel meetings. Thank you for your assistance, and I appreciate any clarification Microsoft can provide on this matter.
