Other meeting summary services make it possible to generate recaps for meetings in other tenants and even on other services - fireflies.ai is one that a customer used before I had Copilot in my own tenant. Can I invite Copilot to a meeting hosted by another org and have it provide me with a transcript and recap?

In order for Copilot to work, the user must be licensed for Copilot for M365 AND that user must be a member of the meeting host tenant. In other words, if I'm licensed for Copilot and I attend a meeting organized by another company, I will not be able to use it. If that other company who is hosting the meeting does have user licensed for Copilot, they (and not me) will be able to use it. In other words, Copilot can only work when a.) you are licensed for it and b.) your tenant is hosting the meeting. Hope that helps!- ATLearoDMar 07, 2024Occasional Reader
Does the other user need to have Copilot turned on in their settings? I recently had a meeting with a big tech company and attempted to use Copilot, but it didn't work. The only possibility is that the admin might have had Copilot turned off at the admin level.
