Upcoming features are usually listed on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap site. You can filter by product, such as Outlook. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=Outlook- EricBBDOIron ContributorDaniel, I just looked at the Teams roadmap and it appears they are focusing on a bunch of highly specific updates and details. Because Teams is so dysfunctional and causes most of us to be disorganization and we struggle to communicate so often, especially visual communication (which is literally our company's product) -- I think they should really focus on core functionality since that's in severe need of attention. Even my friends who work at MS think Teams is shockingly problematic and embarrassing. Someone needs to step up and audit the design.
- EricBBDOIron ContributorOr better yet, contextual organization. If one folder is nested inside another folder on the front-end, it should behave like that on the back end. So for instance if I put a 560 day retention folder inside the inbox folder, A) that should not break the 540 day retention rules and B) I should be able to search the 540 day folder by searching the parent folder. If they only could consult with a design team... sigh

Welcome to the Microsoft 365 Insider Ask Microsoft Anything (AMA)! This text-based live hour event gives you the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback to the engineering and product team. Post each question in the "Comment on this event…" box above.
- Ed_K_Copper ContributorIn the new Outlook I see no email option for "Check spelling before sending". Will there be one? I think this is a big missing feature for those of us that like a little more guardrails for poor typing.
- Matt_PhilipenkoFormer EmployeeHello Edward, Great question! I suggest you reach out to Outlook team through the feedback portal. Here is a direct link to the Outlook feedback portal - https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/forum/89a8afa3-2e1c-ec11-b6e7-0022481f8472?page=1&sort=most-votes
- EricBBDOIron ContributorI'm curious if you plan to hire a design team so Teams isn't confusing and a serious communication problem? I just don't understand why it's not possible to organize anything and why content is obfuscated so easily. Clearly if it were designed first, then engineered, it would be a better platform than engineers just shooting from the hip with bizarre and unresearched assumptions of how the product might get used.
- the_catfixIron Contributor100% with you. I literally shot myself in the foot with not knowing the difference between Bookings/My Bookings and Virtual Appointments. An executive for one the largest asset managers in the world unexpectedly replied to a linkedin invite I sent to him. he said he would give me 30 minutes of his time. I wanted to impress with a private booking page for him and the invitation link looked like it was fortran code. His reply "Frankly you’re spreading your pain to me - I took the time to share my availability, that’s the max I’m willing to do here. Good luck" I learned a valuable lesson. I am not using ANY of the new features on 365 externally until I go thru all of the manuals from the help pages. I saving the pages and downloading the pdfs. Why download? The hyperlink hell of the online manuals are endless. I will say this........Teams is getting better each day. Testing some of the features yesterday really impressed me. The avatar feature is a must have. I thought it was cheesy at the announcement but it is really good. If you have the time to setup Loop then DO IT! Holy Smokes is it good.
- jdrchBrass ContributorTeams really needs Webex's custom URL private meeting room feature. Rather than having to set up a meeting, you have a static custom URL (e.g. contoso.webex.com/FirstName_LastName) you share with folks. When they join via the URL, you get a notification (or email) that they've joined and are waiting for you. That said, Teams' integration with Outlook is much better than Webex's (for obvious reasons).
- jdrchBrass ContributorMore specific examples may be helpful. I moved to Microsoft 365 Enterprise Teams last year after using Enterprise Webex for years. The adjustment was jarring at 1st, but I'm used to it now. Teams chat is far better than Webex but I still believe Webex has a better videoconferencing product.

It's not possible to present a set of videos and present them in order. It's not possible to share a video in Teams (with MS Stream backend) and have a description and thumbnail appear, this is broken because MS engineers failed to include a couple HTML meta tags -- this is basic HTML development. It's not possible to present information in a Team in Teams and not have the content obfuscated in multiple ways -- you can't control the post order (in fact it's actually upside down), all the comments crop the comments so it's only possible to write no more than 3 lines of content before it gets hidden, and each comment below has to manually opened one by one. They got rid of Wiki with only one month notice forcing us to scramble, and worse, they provided no comparable solution or a dysfunctional way to port over thje content to OneNote but failed to move any content structure with it. On Mac OS they bungled the focus in Febraury and they've never fixed it so double-click / single click etc all behave erratically, and it's never been possible to click on the Teams item in the dock and have the app appear (they clearly tried to overwrite native Mac UI and broke their own software.) The focus bug also makes dragging an image into teams to share a very difficult and frustrating experience -- takes about 5 tries. Uploading a video is slow and it's not possible to click send and have the message send when the video is uploaded -- you just have to sit and wait (and often I just forget to send). This is just a few random specific examples. Of course WebEx is bad, but most tools are way better than teams. Basically it's clear the product hasn't been designed and the piecemeal development cycle has left the tool so fragmented in functionality I believe the only solution is to scrap it and start with a fully redesigned solution.
- EricBBDOIron ContributorFYI, I am logged in to my MS account and I RSVP, but it did not get added to my Outlook calendar. Maybe get one of your engineers to fix this bug.
- Meenah_KhosrawFormer Employee
Hello Eric,
RSVPing to the event does not add it to your calendar. You will need to click on "Add to calendar" just below the banner image on this page if you want it added to your personal calendar.
Thanks,
Meenah

- EricBBDOIron Contributor
Yes that's unfortunate. Obviously it should, that's how we expect these things to work in 2023. Also the "add to calendar" button was not displayed clearly so I did not see that. It should be at least near the RSVP if we're relying on 2004 UX strategies. Also that downloads an ics file, again it's not 2004, we don't need to download ics files anymore, just integrate MS with Outlook, sheesh. One day MS will consider listening to a designer, but not today.
- ZionCopper ContributorWhen will the 30 limit for Private Channels in Teams be removed? At least will this be extended to some practical limit like 100?
- EricBBDOIron ContributorOh man, this bizarre and silly limitation is one I was about to hit... It's better I get a warning now and not have to scramble suddenly unsuspectingly because our productivity toolkit is so problematic.

Thanks for this question! Can you submit this as feedback to our Teams product team? https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/forum/ad198462-1c1c-ec11-b6e7-0022481f8472
- cgreen1Iron ContributorWhat happened to the planned feature in SharePoint to "Create more than one home site"? This was on the roadmap listed as Feature ID 99916 but I don't see it any more. Really need this feature!

Hi, Christine! Thanks so much for this feedback! I'm not seeing it either. Could you please send this in on our feedback portal so our SharePoint product team can see it? https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/forum/06735c62-321c-ec11-b6e7-0022481f8472
- GeoffLCSIron ContributorSad to see Tasks in Outlook being left out in the new Outlook. There were so many customisations available that you cannot do in MS To Do. Categories are gone! Conditional formatting to colour the list are gone! Completed Task view-Gone!

Microsoft
Hi, Geoff! Thanks for this feedback. It's super helpful. I'm sending a link to a support article that shows how you can choose to not open Tasks in To-Do, in case that helps. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/use-to-do-app-to-manage-tasks-in-outlook-78aa07e2-cf7e-4eda-9bd1-db1b9d8d49db#:~:text=When%20you%20select%20the%20option%20to%20open%20tasks,the%20To%20Do%20app%20instead%20of%20Outlook%20tasks. Otherwise, it's always SUPER helpful to send this feedback in through the app via "Help-->Feedback --> I don't like something". The product teams are definitely listening to this feedback. (I also use categories and conditional formatting, so I've sent the same feedback!) 🙂- GeoffLCSIron ContributorThanks Susan...I have sent some feedbackvia that, but maybe not this specifically....so will do that now! PS - I do love MS To Do also, but to be honest, I mainly use it on my Phone to enter Tasks in on the fly so to speak. I then manage them from my Outlook Task list.
- EricBBDOIron ContributorI've worked in many agile workflows before, and I can't say the absolute chaos of MS 365 is working well for us.
- Silenus1358Brass ContributorI have a asks-Journal entry at the top ribbon of Outlook. I believe that I had to add it manually.
- dolferXCopper ContributorP.S. I will NEVER switch to the new Outlook until I have the ability to re-arrange the columns in the order I want them - Date Received > From > Subject > Category! 😉
- Matt_PhilipenkoFormer EmployeeGood Morning! Please share this feedback int he portal. Here's the link - https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/forum/89a8afa3-2e1c-ec11-b6e7-0022481f8472?page=1&sort=most-votes
- GeoffLCSIron Contributor
I'm trying the new Outlook on one of my Devices...but not finding it enjoyable to be honest. No ability to organise the Columns as you say! ...and what happned to the ability to search in Attachments???
- dolferXCopper ContributorI'm on a Mac and ever since Ventura, Spotlight searches (for emails within Outlook) don't work properly. They open up Apple Mail instead. There is no way to fix this. It's either your fault or Apple's fault. Someone please fix it. Also, I do appreciate Microsoft Teams for enabling me and many others to work from home so easily. The only downside I've encountered is that there are now Islands of Information scattered all around. Before Teams, almost everything was within Outlook. Now it's scattered in chats, groups, and messages throughout Teams as well as Outlook. Is there a way to unify this any better to help improve my workflow? One temp fix would be to have a "Create Task in To-Do" right click option on any message within Teams. And within that ToDo, a link would take you back to that spot in Teams.
- EricBBDOIron ContributorMS also broke the native Mac OS app focus functionality in Teams in February and that manifests itself as multiple bugs on Mac OS that essentially breaks MS's own app. For instance dragging and dropping an image into a Teams chat takes multiple tries. Clicking on the dock item for Teams doe not bring the app into view, you absolutely need to go digging around in your screens for it. When you click into the app and into a chat, single click should bring the app into focus, and double click should being the app into focus and then open showing this chat -- but instead that fails and it behaves as if you single clicked and double clicked on the chat pooping it out into a separate window. It's the only application that has these focus bugs. I've got multiple feedback posts about this but the problem is MS doesn't have a QA team for Mac OS so bugs get sent out and we are the beta testers.

Hi, Dolf! I'm so sorry you're having this issue with Spotlight searches. It would really help us if you could send us feedback directly within the app (Help --> Give Feedback). That helps provide the log files you've got directly to the product teams so that they can troubleshoot the issue. On the 2nd issue you discussed (information overload), that's also something we're trying to tackle. I really like your idea of the "Create Task in To-Do" right-click option. Can you also send that in as feedback? We've got a Teams forum in our feedback portal that you can find here: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/forum/ad198462-1c1c-ec11-b6e7-0022481f8472 Thanks again! We appreciate your ideas!
